  MLA helps dispose unclaimed dead
Mylapore MLA S. Ve. Shekher has been involved in a few projects.
Widows, handicapped persons and the elderly who deserve assistance have been recommended, says his secretary. His office facilitated issue of ration cards to around 600 people.
On the healthcare front, Shekher’s office says he has recommended 20 patients for admission to the Govt. General Hospital and the Royapettah Hospital.
He has organised free eye surgery for the poor at Udhi Clinic, Alwarpet and also at Shankara Hospital, R A Puram.
When bodies are unclaimed at the mortuary of Royapettah Hospital, a Trust in which the MLA is involved has arranged for their mass burial.
He is currently addressing issues of unauthorized building construction, problems with drainage and installation of garbage bins.
